Students across New York State can apply to nearly 130 colleges and universities for free this October as part of New York State College Application Month (CAM).
Application fees will be waived at The State University of New York (SUNY), The City University of New York (CUNY), and dozens of private colleges and universities, saving students and families $50 to $90 per application.
“Every New Yorker deserves the chance to pursue a college education without financial barriers,” Governor Kathy Hochul said. “College Application Month is about breaking down barriers and helping every student take that critical first step toward college success.”
Application waiver periods include:
SUNY: Up to five waived applications per student from October 20 through November 3.
CUNY: October 27 through November 21 for NYC high school students; November 10 through November 21 for students outside NYC.
Private colleges: Participating at various times throughout October.
Students can find a full list of participating schools and additional resources on the New York State Application Waiver webpage, as well as on the Apply to SUNY and CUNY Month pages.
