A Syracuse man is dead following a three-car crash in the Town of Marcellus Saturday evening.
According to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened just before 6:00p on West Seneca Turnpike near Frank Gay Road when a pickup truck was travelling east on West Seneca Turnpike before spinning out due to icy conditions. The truck hit an SUV travelling west head-on. The third vehicle did not hit the other two but drove into a ditch to avoid the wreck.
In under ten minutes, Anthony Huddleston Jr, the SUV’s sole occupant was extricated from the vehicle by crews from Marcellus and Howlett Hill Fire Departments. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition. The 36-year-old from Syracuse was later pronounced dead.
The drivers of the other two vehicles, the sole occupants of each, were uninjured.
