Penn Yan Police arrested an adolescent offender following a complaint issued in the village last Monday.
Police were advised that the adolescent had allegedly violated an Order of Protection issued out of Yates County Family Court when they threatened to strike another village resident, who is the protected party. The adolescent was charged with criminal contempt and harassment.
Penn Yan Police transported the adolescent offender to the police department for arrest processing and was later transported to the Yates County Youth Part Court at the Yates County Courthouse.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
