A Bluff Point resident was charged with grand larceny and burglary following the report of a stolen car.
It is alleged that 26-year-old Jade Smith entered the workplace of the victim and stole the keys to their car before fleeing the area in the car. Officers also recovered a quantity of suspected crack cocaine that was sent to the State Police Crime Lab for testing.
In addition to grand larceny and burglary, Smith was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Further charges against Smith are expected pending lab results.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
