A Yates County man was arrested Friday following the report of a domestic disturbace at a home in Seneca Falls.
During the investigation, police determined that Patrick Wheeler, of Branchport, allegedy violated a stay-away order of protection by communication with the victim and being in the victim’s presence. Wheeler was charged with criminal contempt.
Following his arrest, Wheeler was brought to the Seneca County Jail to await arraignment.
Police requested an order of protection on behalf of the victim.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
