A Yates County man has been charged with felony drug possession following a months-long investigation, according to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
James Bell has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class B felony. Deputies say the charge stems from an investigation that began in September, when a suspected controlled substance was sent to a lab for analysis. Test results later confirmed the substance was illegal.
Bell is scheduled to return to Middlesex Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
