A Brutus woman was arrested Friday on a warrant stemming from a February traffic stop in Auburn.
According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on February 8 when a deputy observed Landa Flanigan driving on William Street near South Street when she allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign or use a turn signal. She is then accused of failing to yield to pedestrians at a crosswalk where four juveniles were crossing the street.
The deputy pulled Flanigan over on South Street near Chapman Ave. At this point, she is accused of becoming irate and fleeing the traffic stop in her vehicle. The sheriff’s office says that, due to the risk to public safety and the fact that the deputy had already identified the driver, no pursuit was initiated.
A warrant was issued charging her with Obstructing Governmental Administration along with several traffic and vehicle violations. Flanigan was arraigned and released to appear in court at a later date.
