A Steuben County woman is facing charges in the village of Bath following an investigation into the report of an erratic, possibly intoxicated driver.
A Bath PD officer subsequently located the suspect vehicle traveling west on West Steuben Street and reportedly witnessed multiple violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. The officer then conducted a traffic stop on West Morris Street.
An investigation determined that the driver of the car, Brenda Remchuk, of Cameron, was under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Remchuk was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Open Container, and numerous other unspecified violations.
Remchuk was released on an appearance ticket for Bath Village Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
