On Monday, deputies with the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Wolcott man following an investigation into a violation of an order of protection in the Town of Manchester.
Francis Ryan, 33, is accused of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and Burglary in the Second Degree. Authorities responded to a residence on Merrick Avenue at approximately 5:00 p.m. for a report that the order had been violated. Deputies determined that Ryan had allegedly entered the home of a protected party before fleeing the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival.
Ryan was located a short time later and taken into custody. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for centralized arraignment.
Following his processing, Ryan was released on his own recognizance, and a new order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
