The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Wolcott man following an incident in the Village of Red Creek.
Deputies say 47-year-old Jason Barabasz was taken into custody on Monday in connection with an altercation that happened the previous day on State Route 104A.
According to investigators, Barabasz was involved in a dispute with another individual while a child under the age of 17 was present. He allegedly left the scene before deputies arrived, but was located in the village the following afternoon.
Barabasz is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was taken to the Wayne County Jail to await arraignment and is scheduled to appear in Wolcott Town Court for further proceedings.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
