Williamson Woman Arrested for Violating Order of Protection

SHARE NOW

A Wayne County woman is facing multiple charges following a domestic disturbance on Thursday morning.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call last Thursday at a residence on Ridge Road in Williamson. Upon arrival, deputies arrested 47-year-old Stacy Sawyer, who was found to be in direct violation of a stay-away order of protection issued by Cayuga County.

Authorities say Sawyer was in the presence of the protected party, violating the terms of the court order. She was taken into custody without incident and charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree.

Sawyer was transported to the Wayne County Jail, where she awaits arraignment in Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) Court. A future court date will be scheduled for additional proceedings.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
