The investigation into a disabled vehicle on State Route 104 in the town of Williamson Monday night.
When Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene, they found Oleksandr Banakh asleep in the car with the keys in the ignition. After deputies detected to odor of alcohol on Banakh’s breath he was asked to participate in standardized field sobriety testing, which he voluntarily participated in. Banakh failed tests administered by Deputies leading to his arrest. Banakh was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where he refused to submit to a chemical test.
Banakh was taken to the Wayne County Jail and was charged with driving while intoxicated, common law, and refusal to submit to a breath test.
