On Monday, deputies from the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Weedsport man following a trespass investigation at a local gas station.
42-year-old Christopher Wilson Jr. was taken into custody on charges of Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree. The arrest stems from an incident on February 21 at approximately 5:56 a.m. at the Marathon Gas Station in the Village of Weedsport. According to Sheriff Brian Schenck, an investigation established that Wilson Jr. entered the store after having been formally trespassed from the property in the past.
Deputies allege that once inside, Wilson Jr. engaged in an argument with store employees. He was later located at his residence by deputies and issued an appearance ticket.
Wilson Jr. was scheduled to answer the charge in Weedsport Village Court on March 2.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
