The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Town of Galen woman who failed to appear in court for several months.
Deputies say 36-year-old Jolene LaPlant, of Lyons, was taken into custody on a bench warrant issued by Rose Town Court after missing a scheduled appearance for more than three months.
LaPlant was apprehended at her residence and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. She will be held pending arraignment in the county’s Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
