Wayne County Man Leads Police on Pursuit Through Two Towns

SHARE NOW

A Wayne County man faces charges after he allegedly led police on a pursuit through the towns of Palmyra and Macedon.

It is alleged that Colby Sears, of Palmyra, failed to comply after deputies attempted to stop him for a stop sign violation. Sears was able to avoid capture at the time by driving through several farm fields. He was identified as the driver and was arrested on charges of unlawful fleeing a police officer, obstructing governmental administration, speeding, failure to yield the right of way, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper left turn, unsafe starting, failure to use lights, failure to keep right, and moving from lane unsafely.

Following his arraignment at the Wayne County Jail, Sears was released on an appearance ticket for Macedon and Palmyra town courts.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
