The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Town of Lyons man following a disturbance at a local residence.
35-year-old Henry McKenzie was charged with burglary in the second degree and two counts of criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
Authorities say that in the early morning hours, McKenzie went to a residence on Ross Road looking for someone. While inside, he allegedly kicked in the door and took the resident’s cell phone, preventing them from calling 911. McKenzie fled the scene before police arrived. Later that same day, McKenzie was apprehended by law enforcement and taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
