Two Wayne County men were charged with criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny following a joint investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Newark Police Department.
A vehicle driven by 45-year-old Timothy Haskins was observed by police pulling onto Hospital Drive and backing into a loading dock of a building that is part of the Finger Lakes DDSO complex. The car then left the area and was stopped by police on Silver Hill Road. Police say a piece of copper pipe was found in the bed of Haskins’ vehicle.
Haskins, of Marion, and his passenger, 38-year-old Joseph Lamb, of Newark, were processed at the Wayne County Jail and were released on an appearance ticket for Village of Newark Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
