The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Town of Ontario man following a disturbance involving threats and a weapon.
Deputies say 38-year-old Carmello Sagastibelza of South Slocum Road is facing multiple charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree, three counts of Menacing in the Second Degree, and three counts of Harassment in the Second Degree.
The charges stem from an incident at his home, where Sagastibelza allegedly threw a knife at one person and threatened others with a chair.
Deputies located Sagastibelza outside the residence and took him into custody without incident. He was processed at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
