A Wayne County man is facing a number of charges following the investigation into a family trouble that happened in the town of Sodus.
An investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office determined Nicholas Stevenson allegedly violated an order of protection by threatening the victim, thus violating his probation. On Saturday, deputies attempted to take Stevenson into custody when he fled the residence on foot. Stevenson was met by Deputies at the front of the home and a physical confrontation ensued.
The 36-year-old was taken into custody on charges of criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, aggravated harassment, resisting arrest and a violation of probation warrant.
Stevenson was released to appear in court at a later date
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
