Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being involved in a multiple vehicle accident on Route 14 in the town of Torrey.
It happened during the noon hour on Saturday when police say Grace Pelino, of Watkins Glen, was driving south and veered into the northbound lane and struck a car driven by Gary Race, of Canandaigua.
Pelino was taken to Schuyler Hospital by Schuyler Ambulance for her injuries. A woman passenger in the car driven by Race was taken by Penn Yan Ambulance to Soldiers and Sailors Hospital. Pelino was ticketed by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office for an Unsafe Lane Change.
Also assisting the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Dresden and Himrod fire departments and the Yates County Office of Emergency Management.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
