    In New York, Chemung, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Steuben, Tompkins, and Yates Counties. In Pennsylvania, Bradford and Wyoming Counties.
    WHEN
    From 2 PM this afternoon to 2 PM EDT Saturday.
    IMPACTS
    Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    There will be several periods of stronger winds, with this afternoon seeing strong southerly winds, then a break this evening, before stronger west wind develop tonight into Saturday.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Watkins Glen Police Investigating Multiple Home and Vehicle Break-ins

In addition to a number of thefts from vehicles this week, the Watkins Glen Police Department says it is also investigating the attempted break-in of multiple village homes.

The department reports that over the last several nights, an unknown suspect or suspects have attempted to break into a number of homes around the village. There have also been reports of items stolen from unlocked cars and several vehicles were ransacked. The department is asking residents to keep all car doors locked and homes and buildings properly secured and locked.

Watkins Glen PD also asks you to check any security camera footage and report to the police any suspicious activity you might see at (607) 535-7883.
