Waterloo Woman Charged With DWI Following Ontario County Crash

SHARE NOW

Ontario County sheriff’s deputies say a Waterloo woman was arrested for DWI after a two-car crash Thursday at the intersection of State Route 96 and County Road 6 in Phelps.

Deputies say 20-year-old Rosemarie Bellone, of North Rose, was headed east on Route 96 and had stopped to make a left turn onto County Road 6 around 12 p.m. When she slowed, her vehicle was hit from behind by another eastbound car driven by 62-year-old Trina White, of Waterloo.

Investigators say White was following too closely and rear-ended Bellone’s vehicle. Deputies later determined White was intoxicated and took her into custody. She was transported to the Ontario County Jail for processing.

Bellone was taken to Geneva General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The New York State Police assisted at the scene.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
