Waterloo Woman Accused of Lying on Benefits Application

SHARE NOW

A Waterloo woman has been arrested on two counts of offering a false instrument for filing following an investigation by Seneca County DHS.

Vera Powell is accused of not declaring a source of income on two benefit applications she filed with the county.

Powell was processed at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center and released on an appearance ticket. Powell is expected to appear in Waterloo Town Court later this month.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
