A traffic stop Sunday night in the city of Geneva resulted in the arrest of a Waterloo man.
At around 10:20 p.m., a Road Patrol Division officer observed a car traveling West on Castle Street crossing the center line. A traffic stop was conducted, and Jesus Miguel-Sanchez was identified as the vehicle’s driver. Police say that during the traffic stop, officers located an open container of alcohol inside the car. After further investigation, officers determined that Miguel-Sanches was operating the car while intoxicated.
Miguel-Sanchez was charged with DWI, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Open Container of Alcohol in a Car, and Failure to Keep Right. He was released on an appearance ticket for Geneva City Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
