The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Town of Waterloo man following a disturbance at the McDonald’s restaurant in Lyons.
Deputies say 35-year-old Korrey Bennett was charged with Assault in the Third Degree after allegedly striking another person during an altercation inside the restaurant. The victim suffered a visible lump on the right side of their face as a result.
Bennett fled the scene on foot but later turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office, where he was taken into custody without incident.
He was processed and released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court on September 9 at 8:30 a.m. to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
