A Waterloo man was arrested by Canandaigua Police on criminal contempt charges following the report of a violation of an order of protection at a Buffalo Street address.
The alleged incident involving Luis Hernandez happened on January 21st. It is alleged that Hernandez contacted a woman on Facebook who had an active stay-away order of protection against him. Hernandez was arrested at the City of Canandaigua Court where he had a court appearance for a separate offense.
Hernandez was later transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
