SHARE NOW

A Waterloo man and a juvenile were arrested following an attempted theft in the Town of Waterloo.

According to Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson, deputies were called just after midnight on January 17 to a report of two suspects attempting to steal a four-wheeler from a shed. The suspects fled on foot into a wooded area but were located a short time later on a nearby road.

Deputies arrested 34-year-old Deshawn Carrillo on charges of Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree, Conspiracy in the Fifth Degree, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. A juvenile was also taken into custody and charged with Criminal Trespass in the Third Degree and Conspiracy in the Sixth Degree. The juvenile’s name is being withheld because of their age.

Carrillo was transported to the Seneca County Jail and held for Centralized Arraignment Proceedings. He is scheduled to reappear at a later date in Waterloo Town Court. The juvenile was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Family Court at a later date.

An order of protection was requested for the victim and the juvenile against Carrillo.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
