A Waterloo man was arrested by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The arrest of 26-year-old Dejon Butler stems from an investigation that he had been operating a 2010 Chevrolet Traverse and failed to return it to the registered owner pursuant to an agreement. Butler was issued an appearance ticket and held by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office on separate charges.
Butler will appear in Phelps Town Court at a later date to answer his charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
