An Ontario County man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he violated an order of protection moments after it was served.
The Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday, deputies served the order to Richard Byers in the Town of Victor. Investigators say Byers immediately violated the order, refused to cooperate with deputies, and resisted arrest.
Byers was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and resisting arrest.
He was taken to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment in CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
