A Varick man was arrested following a domestic violence incident on Wednesday.
Deputies arrested 38-year-old Matthew Haws of State Route 336 around 1:00 p.m. He is facing multiple charges, including Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, and Aggravated Family Offense—all stemming from an incident in which Haws allegedly violated an order of protection and damaged property in the presence of a child.
Haws was arraigned in Seneca County CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
