The investigation into a domestic incident resulted in the arrest of a 39-year-old man by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest of Derek Lyon stems from a call in the town of Varick for the report of a physical domestic in progress. After investigation, it is alleged that Derek and a female got into an argument. The woman involved attempted to call 911 for help but Lyon took the phone and broke it, which prevented her from calling 911.
Lyon was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await CAP arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
