A Union Springs man is charged with criminal trespass and criminal contempt following an investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Last Friday morning, deputies were dispatched to a domestic incident in the village of Cayuga. When they arrived, deputies started to interview the alleged victim. During the interview, Robert Giannone arrived at the location. An investigation determined Giannone entered the victim’s home unlawfully, violating an Order of Protection. Giannone was arrested at the scene and brought to the Cayuga County Jail for CAP arraignment.
Following that appearance, Giannone was sent to Cayuga County Jail in lieu of bail. He will answer the charges in Aurelius Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
