Two Sodus Residents Charged with Petit Larceny

SHARE NOW

On Monday, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two Wayne County residents following a shoplifting investigation at the Target on Commons Boulevard in Victor.

Amanda Youngs, 39, and Mathew Youngs, 40, both of Barclay Road in Sodus, were taken into custody at approximately 1:20 p.m. Deputies allege that the pair was observed concealing multiple items of merchandise into a purse and reusable shopping bags. The stolen property was valued at $276.09.

According to investigators, the two defendants passed all points of sale without attempting to pay for the items. Both were transported to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office substation for processing and were subsequently released on appearance tickets.

Amanda and Mathew Youngs are scheduled to answer the charges in Victor Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
