A North Carolina man is facing robbery and criminal impersonation charges in Seneca County.

The arrest of 28-year-old Christopher Conley, of Spring Lake, North Carolina, stems from an incident on Wednesday, where it is alleged he forcefully took a wallet from a person in the town of Ovid. During the investigation, Conley allegedly gave police a false name multiple times.

Following his arraignment, Conley was released on an appearance ticket for Ovid Town Court.

36-year-old Austin Autry, who was with Conley, was arrested as a Fugitive From Justice in North Carolina. The Spring Lake, North Carolina man was wanted for felony level domestic violence charges. He was questioned during the investigation with Congley and it was discovered he had an active nationwide extraditable warrant.

Autry was sent to Seneca County Jail following his arraignment to await extradition proceedings.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
