A State Police investigation into multiple recent burglaries of storage units, hunting cabins, residences, and stolen cars has resulted in the arrest of two Steuben County men.
Troopers arrested Adam Hosmer, of Avoca, on a bench warrant stemming from the charges of burglary and grand larceny. Subsequent to the 34-year-old’s arrest, property was found that included shotguns, ammunition, extended magazines, and a stolen car. Hosmer was charged with bail jumping, criminal possession of stolen property, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon with a large capacity feeding device, all felonies, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of burglary tools, resisting arrest, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
57-year-old John Janelli, of Hammondsport, was also arrested at the scene. He was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and two counts each of criminal possession of a weapon with a large capacity ammunition feeding device, criminal possession of a weapon and falsifying business records, all felonies. He too was sent to Steuben County Jail without bail.
The investigation is ongoing.
