A man and woman from the Town of Marion face charges following a serious motorcycle crash that left one person with multiple injuries.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, the crash resulted in the motorcycle operator suffering significant injuries to her right forearm, femur, spine, and ankle.
Deputies arrested 35-year-old Chad Dier and 38-year-old Anna Parker (no booking photo released), both of Huntley Road, after determining Dier had been driving the vehicle that struck the motorcycle while intoxicated. Initially, deputies were led to believe Parker was the driver.
Dier is facing multiple charges, including second-degree vehicular assault, second-degree assault, tampering with evidence, conspiracy, providing a false written statement, DWI, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, aggravated unlicensed operation, and several traffic violations. He was taken to the Wayne County Jail following CAP arraignment.
Parker was charged with conspiracy and providing a false statement. She was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Marion Town Court on August 6.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
