A traffic stop in Farmington Monday night resulted in the arrest of two Canandaigua residents on drug charges.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the traffic stop was initiated after the vehicle in question was spotted being driven on Collett Road with inoperable headlights and taillights. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that the driver, 66-year-old Douglas Smit,h and 36-year-old Jessica Gleeson were both in possession of cocaine.
Smith and Gleeson were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
