Two men are facing felony drug charges after police say they were caught with more than 10 ounces of cocaine in Ithaca.
State Police say the arrests happened around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday during a Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) detail with the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office. Officers were alerted by Ithaca Police to a black Dodge Durango suspected in an illegal drug sale parked at West Green and South Geneva streets.
Troopers and deputies approached the vehicle and identified the occupants as 29-year-old Khalid Husband of Brooklyn and 29-year-old Mark Waters of Elmira. A K9 search turned up about 10.5 ounces of cocaine.
Both men were charged with first- and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and arraigned in Ithaca City Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
