Two men have been indicted and arrested in connection with a knife-point robbery that occurred in Bath last November.
Police say the incident was reported in the early morning hours of November 2nd at a home on West Steuben Street. The victim told officers he had been robbed of money by two suspects armed with a knife. An extensive investigation led to the identification of both men, and the case was presented to a Steuben County Grand Jury.
This month, sealed indictment warrants were issued for the arrest of the suspects.
On September 16, Bath Village Police arrested 36-year-old Damian Vanvleck of Bath. He was charged with felony robbery, along with misdemeanor counts of menacing and petit larceny.
On September 22, authorities located 40-year-old Nathaniel Tucker of Hornell. He was charged with felony robbery and felony criminal possession of a weapon, in addition to misdemeanor charges of menacing and petit larceny.
Both men were arraigned and sent to the Steuben County Jail in lieu of bail.
Police emphasized the 2023 incident was isolated and posed no ongoing threat to the community.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
