Two Arrested After Search Turns Up Drugs & Weapons

Two Cayuga County residents are facing drug and weapons charges following an investigation by the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force (FLDTF).

According to the FLDTF, a search warrant was issued for Timothy Martin, his vehicle, and his residence in connection with the possession, sale, and distribution, of illegal drugs.

On Wednesday, at around 1:30a, Martin and his passenger, Lindsay Mitchell, were stopped for the vehicle search in Auburn.

During the search of Martin’s car and home, investigators found a loaded handgun which was determined to have been stolen from the Town of Vestal, a loaded semi-automatic shotgun, body armor, metal knuckles, over 100 glassine envelopes of fentanyl, 35 grams of methamphetamine, and over 10 ounces of molly. Digital scales and packaging material believed to be used for distributing street-level quantities of narcotics were also found.

Martin was charged with felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, all felonies. He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of Public Health Law Imitation Controlled Substances for possessing molly, and Unlawful Purchase of Body Armor.

Mitchell was charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon for possessing the metal knuckles with a previous conviction. Additionally, she was charged with misdemeanor charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Public Health Law Imitation Controlled Substances for possessing molly.

The 37-year-old Auburn man and the 30-year-old Weedsport woman were both taken to the Cayuga County Jail.
