Ithaca Police Officers responded to reports of a possible burglary in progress Oct. 31 at 10:46 a.m. in the 400 block of Cliff Street. The property owner contacted the police department after observing two individuals inside the building via security camera.
Upon arrival, officers secured the area and located the suspects. Both suspects failed to comply with commands to stop and attempted to flee. One suspect, identified as Allison Pratt of Ithaca, was taken into custody nearby without incident, while the other fled into a nearby wooded area.
With assistance from the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office drone unit, the second suspect — identified as Juan Breton of Ithaca — was quickly located and both were taken into custody. Breton was found to be in possession of a pair of metal knuckles.
Pratt was charged with criminal trespass and released on an appearance ticket to appear in Ithaca City Court at a later date.
Breton, on the other hand, was charged with criminal trespass as well as resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and criminal possession of a weapon. Breton was arraigned and remanded to Tompkins County Jail.
