Traffic Stops Leads to Alleged Meth Lab Discovery in Tompkins County

SHARE NOW

A traffic stop over the weekend in Tompkins County led to the discovery of a meth lab at a residence.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office reports it obtained the search warrant for the residence of the passenger in a car that was pulled over in the city of Ithaca Saturday for a suspended registration, which allegedly turned up methamphetamine, heroin, crack, cocaine, and some pills. A search of Eric Walker’s home in Newfield on Sunday led to the discovery of a suspected meth lab along with the repossession of two illegal firearms.

Following the traffic stop, Walker and the driver of the car, Barbara Barber, of Alpine, were charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Walker may face additional charges from the search of his home.
