A traffic stop conducted by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the Sunday arrest of a Geneva woman.
Deputies pulled over a car driven by Miosotis Rodriguez Martis on State Route 96 in the town of Phelps for an inoperable taillight. Further investigation found that the 43-year-old was allegedly driving while intoxicated and on a Non-Driver NYS ID. Deputies also reported that throughout the course of the investigation, Rodriguez Martis obstructed their investigative process several times.
In addition to Driving While Intoxicated, Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle and having an Inoperable Taillight, Rodriguez Martis was charged with obstructing governmental administration.
She was being held at the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
