A traffic stop in the town of Waterloo has resulted in felony charges against a Marion resident.
The arrest stems from an incident where it is alleged that Valerian Desiderio was observed by Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies that the 47-year-old was allegedly driving a car with non-functioning tail lights. Upon conducting a traffic stop and a police investigation, it was found that Desiderio was Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content of .08%. Desiderio was also operating a motor vehicle while holding a Revoked Driver’s license due to a previous DWI conviction in 2017 and without a court-ordered interlock device.
In addition to felony DWI, Desiderio was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation and misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle with a court order interlock device and several other traffic violations.
Desiderio was processed on the charges and released on an appearance ticket for Waterloo Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
