Traffic Stop Leads to DWI Arrest in Wayne County

A traffic stop in the town of Galen by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a 56-year-old Clyde man.

Ted Fitch was pulled over after being observed allegedly violating New York State Vehicle and Traffic Laws. Deputies asked Fitch to participate in standardized field sobriety testing which he agreed to and failed, resulting in his arrest. Fitch was then taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a chemical test yielding a .16 BAC.

Fitch was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Common Law, and Driving While Intoxicated with .08 BAC or greater.

Fitch will appear in Galen Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
