A traffic stop conducted early Monday morning by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a Newark man.
After being pulled over for speeding on State Route 31 in Lyons, Michael Lawrence was asked to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, which he failed. After being placed under arrest and taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Lawrence refused to submit to a chemical test. Lawrence was charged with felony DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without a required Interlock Device due to an imposed restriction, and one count of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Lawrence was awaiting arraignment at the Wayne County Jail
