A domestic incident in the village of Port Byron earlier this week resulted in the arrest of a Throop man on a felony aggravated family offense charge.
On Tuesday morning, deputies were called to an address in Port Byron for a reported domestic violence incident. The victim reported that Daniel Usher allegedly left a threatening voicemail threatening to harm a person with the use of a firearm. Upon completing the investigation, the sheriff’s department reports Usher turned himself in without incident.
Due to Usher’s previous criminal convictions related to domestic violence, the charge of aggravated family offense, which is a felony, was applied.
Usher was released to appear in Port Byron Village Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
