Three people were taken to the hospital following a two-car accident on State Route 14A in the town of Starkey.
According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, Meenu Thapalia, of Ithaca, was parked on the shoulder of the east side of the road from Country Side Nursery. As Thapalia began to re-enter the road, she attempted to make a left-hand turn into the nursery and pulled directly in front of a southbound car driven by Tom Fulkrod, of Bellona.
Thapalia was not injured in the accident but was ticketed for failure to yield. A passenger in her car, R, Shrestha-Shea complained of shoulder and chest pain, while Fulkrod suffered an abdominal injury and his passenger, Carrie Fulkrod, complained of foot and ankle pain.
Dundee Fire, Dundee Ambulance, and Yates County Ambulance assisted the Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
