Three Accused of Stealing Tools From Cayuga County Store

SHARE NOW

Three people have been arrested for allegedly stealing DeWalt tools from the Tractor Supply store in Sennett.

On December 2nd, store employees called 911 to report a man and woman had allegedly left the store without paying for the DeWalt tools they had in their possession. It was determined the couple left in a dark-colored sedan with a third person inside the car. Using store security footage, deputies identified the alleged shoplifters as 47-year-old Sasha Binns, of Port Byron and 31-year-old Jeffrey Shields, of Auburn. The person in the car was determined to be a girl who was under the age of 18.

Sheriff’s Deputies say they are familiar with Binns and Shields due to recent investigations of theft involving the duo.

On December 11th, Binns, Shields, and the juvenile were all arrested on warrants charging them with conspiracy and petit larceny.

Binns was held in Cayuga County Jail without bail due to additional pending charges in other courts, while Shields was held on bail. The unidentified juvenile was released on appearance tickets.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
