Two teenagers are accused of using a machete to attack another teenager in the city of Ithaca.
Police responded to the 200 block of Elmira Road shortly after 7 Thursday night after receiving a report of an assault in progress. The assailants fled the area when police arrived but were picked up a short time later on South Meadow Street. The machete allegedly used in the assault was recovered.
The 17 and 15-year-old suspects were released to the custody of their parents with multiple charges pending. The victim suffered undisclosed non-life-threatening injuries.
The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Park Police assisted the Ithaca Police Department in the investigation.
